When There is No Word
Once, my student asked me a very difficult question. "What happened when people had not found any specific language to be spoken?"
I could not answer but guessing. "I guess they used any sound they knew and some sign languages".
After arriving home, I started thinking,"was that the right answer?"
It is hard to imagine when human beings have no words to express their feeling. Moreover, it will be even weird when the spoken language cannot be interpreted in the written form. This writing will not be served in front of you without the presence of the words. I am afraid if I cannot tell you all that I do care about you even there is no chance for me to see you in the year running.
To my imagination, a word contains thousand of stories. Saying,"hi!" will give different views to each of us. Delivering the word "hi" will need us to express it in different ways. What a word!
When you have time and hopefully still have time, please say nice words to all beloved people around you. Also, you may prepare yourself to say good words to any people you might have chances to meet. Remember...when there is no word...there is no world!
